Floating Diabase wash basin

By Jan-Carel Koster

Origins

This handmade floating Diabase wash basin is a new design by Jan-Carel. It is the big brother of his previously made corner fountain that is suitable for a small toilet.

The Diabase that has been used for this wash basin  is sourced in German quarries, not too far from where Jan-Carel is based in the Nederlands. He visits these quarries to check on the quality and source perfect rocks for his projects.

More about this basin

This hanging natural stone washbasin, weighing approximately 300 kg, is suitable for a larger toilet or bathroom. Of course, this fountain can also be placed outside. Because this type of stone can be used well for objects that will be placed or hung outside. The drain of this model has again been incorporated into the hollowed out rear to prevent unnecessary pipes from appearing in the interior. There is also no chrome drain cap visible in the sink. This has been neatly and subtly concealed in such a way that there is always a possibility to get to the cause of a possible blockage.

The weathered appearance of the stone is again a nice contrast in this design with the sleek wash area. The customer’s wish to create some extra space to place attributes has been depicted by Jan-Carel in this playful way in this once again exclusive and unique natural stone sink model.

The size of this hanging corner washbasin is Height 70 cm x Width 57 / 56 cm.
